From August to November 2011, I went all over the U.S. and a few places in Europe for General Electric working on photos for their Instagram feed. Barbarian Group was the Ad Agency.
I think GE was one of the first big companies to embrace Instagram as a platform to promote their brand. I clearly remember HATING Instagram during this time period. I was a Tumblr snob and looked down on Instagram. In my defense, smart phone screens at the time totally sucked but I'll admit I was wrong. But actually... maybe I was right!?
Anyway, I remember they insisted on using the IG filters at the time. I tried to fight it but there was only so much I could do. I was definitely right about the filters.

There are way too many photos from this job to post here. I'll revisit this work for the newsletter next year. Lots of interesting places and stories. Factory photography might be my favorite commercial work genre.
