Welcome to the first ADHD PEI Newsletter!

Photo of Sandy SladeMy name is Sandy Slade, the founder of ADHD PEI, let me be the first to welcome you. I am so glad you decided to sign up! Here's what you can expect from this newsletter;

  • The best place to get up-to-date information on ADHD PEI events, initiatives, and resources.
  • Each issue will have a focused theme where we do a deeper dive into a specific aspect of living with ADHD (December's topic is dealing with Holiday stress).
  • But don't just read about it! You can continue the discussion in our closed Facebook group (just search for "ADHD PEI Group"). We will also touch on the monthly theme in our weekly meetings (see the 'Upcoming Events' section below for details!).
Remember - together we can thrive, not just survive!
December Update

So many exciting things have been happening at ADHD PEI the past couple of months! Here's a summary of what we've been up to so you can get a better sense of what our organization is all about;

October was ADHD awareness month and ADHD PEI conducted two open house information sessions which were well attended. Welcome to all of our new members who joined the Facebook group and/or were able to attend one of the sessions, we love seeing new faces and getting the opportunity to help even more people on PEI!

Also in October we had two news articles including one about our open house in the Guardian and one of our members was interviewed by CBC PEI. This is part of our ongoing mission to increase the awareness and acceptance of ADHD in our local region.

Through these efforts our Facebook page has grown to over 170 members over October and November of this year and we hope to keep the momentum going!

ADDing to Your Toolbox

Holiday stress! Everyone experiences increased stress around the holidays, but it can be particularly bad for people with ADHD. In this video by "How to ADHD" Jessica McCabe interviews Eric Tivers, an ADHD coach and podcast host. Eric suggests reflecting on what truly brings us joy and to limit our commitments to those 3-5 things.
How to ADHD - What if you don't have to "Enjoy the Holidays?"
