Dear <<First Name>>,
Bouchard Père & Fils can trace their origins back to 1731 when the house was founded by Michel Bouchard, making it one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy. Now 9 generations on they have acquired some exceptional vineyard holdings throughout the region with 130 hectares of their own vines, planted on a mosaic of 450 different vineyards sites, of which 12 are classed Grand Cru and 74 classed as Premier Cru. They boast a unique Burgundy heritage, offering great diversity and a raft of prestigious appellations, including Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l’Enfant Jésus, Bonnes-Mares, and Meursault Perrière – these are names that resonate with history, inspiring respect and encouraging the pursuit of excellence.
They strive to express the distinct character of the terroirs of Burgundy, combining tradition and innovation, working hard to bring out the distinctiveness of each successive vineyard and vintage. They seek to make their wines exquisite works of art, each with its own personality and charm, and in this pursuit of excellence they apply the “precision of a goldsmith” to each stage of wine-making, delighting lovers of fine wine. In 1820 Bernard Bouchard purchased the Château de Beaune, a former royal fortress built in the 15th century by King Louis XI. The cellars are up to 10 metres deep, and here the wines develop and age undisturbed, alongside a unique collection of over 2,000 bottles from the 19th century – a priceless historical legacy – their oldest wine is a Meursault Charmes 1846 which still retains its lustre.
We are delighted to offer you a selection of Bouchard Père & Fils’ wonderful Burgundies so you can experience the terroirs of this exceptional region for yourself – perfection in a glass!
