Announcing MACA's New Board Members!
Dear MACA Members,

Thank you to all who voted in our recent MACA Board election. We are excited to announce new Board members for 2020-2021 for three of our positions – Vice Chair, Communications Chair, and Programming Chair. Our new Vice Chair is Jen Taggart, Assistant Department Head of Youth Services at the Bloomfield Township Public Library. Our new Communications Chair is Jennifer Kanyo, Director of Education at the Midland Center for the Arts. Our new Programming Chair is Emily O’Hara, Curator of Exhibit Design at the Detroit Zoological Society. Welcome and congratulations to all! To learn more about all of our new Board members, please see their bios below.

I would also like to thank our outgoing board members. Our outgoing Vice Chair, Jenny Angell, Associate Educator at the Detroit Institute of Arts, was elected during MACA’s first election in October 2017. Over the past two years, Jenny has assisted with a wide variety of tasks, while also helping to define the responsibilities for this position moving forward. Our outgoing interim Communications Chair, Bree Boettner, Manager of Education Programs at the Detroit Historical Society, has helped keep our newsletters going, our Facebook page updated, and any other communications tasks done during her time in this position since earlier this spring. Our last outgoing Board member is also an incoming Board member. Programming Chair since September 2018, Jen Taggart coordinated the details for our three programs earlier this year, each of which had a diverse array of speakers and was well-organized from pre-program registration to post-program survey. While Jen will no longer be our Programming Chair, we are excited to have her continuing on the Board as Vice Chair.

Again, thank you to our outgoing Board members, congratulations to our incoming Board members, and thank you to all of you for your continued support of MACA! I am looking forward to all that is yet to come!
