Deagon Ward E-News
November 2019
As the year winds down, the community calendar is chock-a-block with fantastic celebrations for schools, sporting clubs and community groups.
Attending school graduations and celebrations fill me with pride as I get to share such a special occasion with the young students and families of our community. I am truly inspired by what these kids have achieved and feel much hope and optimism as to what they have the potential to do in their futures. I would like to once again congratulate all of the 2019 school graduates and wish them all the best.
There has been some great environmental work going on around the community recently with events like the Ocean Crusaders Cabbage Tree Creek clean up and the War on Waste 4017 group who were joined by members of Council's Litter Prevention team for the foreshore clean up. While we are very lucky to have some amazing natural areas like our lagoons, Moreton Bay and the creek, it's important that they are managed and protected and the community is playing a significant role in doing that in our local area.
I have also been out and about at sporting presentations, multicultural festivals, community markets, and mobile offices. We have some great end of year celebrations and other special events coming up over the next few weeks and I hope to see you at some of them. There are more details below.
Keep an eye out on my Facebook page to keep up to date with local news and events.
If you are part of a local community group and want me to feature an upcoming event in my e-news please contact my office to arrange this.
Cheers
Jared Cassidy
