DINNER AND A SHOW!
A VERY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE FOR LUNCHEON GUESTS
 
Last weekend Gai put on a very different experience for her luncheon guests.
She discovered a brown snake at the window of the restaurant. It seemed to have taken up residency.

In the middle of service, an SOS went out to the local snake catcher. To everyone’s very great amusement the (female) snake catcher proceeded to take away parts of the retaining wall Bernard had built many years ago. One rock at a time, the wall was all eventually demolished. Though slippery, she eventually bagged the intruder; the patrons were entertained and all ended well.


If you are contemplating coming to one of her fanfare Degustation Luncheons, Gai asked me to assure everyone it was a “one-off” event!

Bernard and I would like to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the hundreds of our lovely members and friends who sent their best wishes and support following Bernard’s recent cancer scare – too many to answer individually.  Now 3 months since the surgery, he is doing really well and just between you and me you can hardly notice the scar above his eye.

THE DROUGHT CONTINUES
WITHOUT AN END IN SIGHT

Amidst the worst drought in living memory we feel very lucky to be surviving. Our hearts go out to all those affected by these terrible fires.  It will rain, we’re confident.

In our Erudgere Valley, there are 3 olive groves and 4 vineyards.  We are the only one with water which we attribute to the removal of the majority of our vines.  Tough times.

This is one of the many that has elevated Rosé to being the biggest selling wine in the world.
Yes, it too has two flavours:  the first is a mouthful of rich, ripe berries following by a tingle of white pepper at the back of the throat which makes it pair so well with spicy food e.g. chilli, pizza, pepperoni, Thai or Indian food.

And yes, it too won a Mudgee Medal last year. It will be the last we produce from the medal winning vines we removed last year.
