UoM Food Market - Tues 19th November 11.30am to 2.30pm
Trading Details

Good afternoon traders,

Please find below all the important details for our Bridgeford Street lunchtime market at the University of Manchester on Tuesday 19th November 2019, 11.30-2.30.

Phone contact (market day ONLY) - call Sean on 07792516544 or Andy on 07841651621 if you have any problems on the day. Please send us an email rather than call if you have any issues outside of Tuesday's trading hours.

PLEASE READ: If you've booked electricity, we need to know exact details of the electrical equipment you'll be bringing in advance, including the wattage. You are NOT permitted to use more than this on the day. We are extremely limited for power on this site and if the power goes off, it is very difficult for us to get it back on again.

Timings – please see below for the times we have allocated each trader to arrive at the start of the day. It is VERY important that everyone is on time in the morning. Any delays could throw the whole schedule off and irritate users of university buildings, which could jeopardise our chances of continuing to run the event.

Please take careful note of your arrival time and let me know ASAP if there is a particular problem with it and a new list can be circulated. Remember – the market opens at 11.30am so everyone should have enough time to get ready. Please note that these times may be different from previous weeks.

  • Arriving at 10am to 10.15am: Tapas Altrincham, BON Street Food, Drizzle City Bakes, MaNow and Kickback Coffee
  • Arriving at 10.15am to 10.30am: Wrapscallion, BBQ Events Company, Cibus, North West Game and Nibble NQ
  • Arriving at 10.30am to 10.45am: The Ottomen, Konoba and Plant B Quesadilla
  • Arriving at 10.45am to 11.00am: Big Mouth Gyoza, Swan Kitchen / Back on Track and Golden Nugget

On arrival, we request that you please unload as quickly as possible then immediately park your vehicle in the nearby multi-storey car park. Our team will watch your stuff until you get back, then you can get on with setting up ready for the market. If you have a tall van (over 2.05m) then the car park marked on the map below will not be suitable – alternative parking is available a short walk away on Cecil Street, M15 6GD.

Waste management and fire safety - Please note that all traders must take responsibility for removing all of their own waste from the site, bring their own fire safety equipment, and food traders MUST put cardboard or other protective material down to protect the floor from hot fat/oil. Please stop serving at 2.30pm and pack up as quickly as they can to help our team get the market packed up promptly. Our team will manage staggered departures once the market closes.

Food hygiene and allergens

Allergen information (IMPORTANT for food traders) - You must adhere to government regulations regarding displaying allergen information. Please read this PDF for essential advice.

Food hygiene – please take all the required measures to prepare, cook and serve food in line with current food hygiene regulations. Full guidance available here

Access, location and directions - Please see below for a map of the site with important areas marked on. The address is Bridgeford St, M15 6FH and your best way to access it is shown on the attached map.

IMPORTANT: There are new restrictions in place on parts of Oxford Road, so you will get a fine if you travel along those sections as there are ANPR cameras. We believe the fines can be up to £80/£90. Please take a look at this: https://www.tfgm.com/maps/oxford-road BEFORE making your journey for details but essentially, access is via the service road from Higher Cambridge Street. The entrance to the service road can be found by using postcode M15 6AR.

There is a barrier marked on the map below – on arrival, please press the intercom button on the barrier and say that you are a market trader coming to set up, give your stall name and someone will open it for you. The barrier team have been given a list of your stall names and arrival times. Please remember to bring funds for the multi-storey car park, which is approx. £5 for 3-6 hours. Any problems on the day, please call Andy on 07841 651621 (market day only please).

Any questions at all, please let me know asap. Otherwise, I’ll see you at the market!

Best regards,
