Friends! So many things have happened during the first two months of Bible School for the Nations (BSN)! I'm so excited to have you along for the journey, but more importantly so share what the Lord is doing here in the Philippines!
We have officially read through the Old Testament, have covered the intertestmental period of history, and have begun on the New Testament. The school has seen radical provision, and I've seen even MORE healing, both physical and spiritual, for my classmates!

for ezra had set in his heart
to study the law of the LORD
and to do it and teach it
-ezra 7:10-
My time in Baguio for this school has been so enriching, and has really allowed me to understand the Lord in a deeper way! We have studied through the Old Testament and have begun the New Testament. The staff have been incredibly diligent and passionate in their teachings!
I am able to see more clearly that all of scripture is God's whole story, and I am so excited to continue digging in! This really is the book that changes individuals, communities, people groups, and nations. Its power to transform us is found in its truth that God is King over all things, and He desires relationship!
As a school, we also had an assignment requiring a thirty minute teaching on a minor prophet. I was able to study the book of Hosea, and after having been able to read it again and again, I am just so much more aware of the Lord's desire for relationship and obedience. His heart longed for Israel's devotion, just He had devoted Himself to them.
In a few weeks, we will teach on an epistle from the New Testament. I have the opportunity and privilege to study and teach on 2 Timothy, which the Lord has really impressed on me to study since the start of this school!

you're taking me on a journey
into the depths of your heart
you're leading me in by learning
showing me who you really are

I am so thankful for the staff in this school, who have committed themselves to knowing and living out the Word of the Lord! This is Joshua, and he recently completed his BSN in Perth, Australia. Joshua is such a fiery-eyed man who loves the Lord, and he walks in such humility. Plus, he really lives out doing first then teaching, much like Jesus.
This past Saturday, as Joshua was walking to the base, he began talking with a man living in the area whose name is Sunny. As they spoke, Joshua shared about Jesus with him, and asked if he reads the Bible. Sunny explained that he was unable to read because of a welding accident that affected his eyesight. He couldn't even see Joshua clearly, even from just a foot's distance. He also shared that he had backslidden pretty badly, but Joshua encouraged him to repent and believe, and that God wanted to bring him back into relationship.
Joshua then asked if he could pray for his eyes, because he felt that the Lord wanted to restore his eyesight. Sunny agreed, and said that his eyes were a bit better after praying once! He asked Joshua to pray again and grabbed his hand to place it over his eye. This time, Sunny said his eyesight was totally better! They went out of Sunny's house, and he said that he was able to see dresses hung out to dry in the distance!
The Lord not only brought restoration to Sunny's eyes, but He also brought restoration to their relationship when Joshua returned the next day to share more with Sunny. As Joshua sat with Sunny, he was able to play worship songs on his guitar, and Sunny just wept and repented, asking the Lord for forgiveness. Joshua parted ways with him having prayed again and giving him a hug. I am so thankful for incredible testimonies of blind eyes opened, but I'm even more thankful that a man has chosen to repent of his sins and trust in the Lord again!
-Prayer Requests-
  • Pray for my school, as we are in the eleventh week of teaching. With only five weeks remaining, it's beginning to be crunch time as we prepare for outreach and finish up our time in lecture phase.
  • My outreach team and are have been finalized for location* and ministry time! Pray we walk in unity and that we continue to press in for deeper revelation on how the Lord would use us in this time!
  • Please pray for my family as well, for protection and that the Lord continues to work in their lives individually and as a family.
I am so thankful for those of you who have continually prayed for me and given to me financially in my pursuit of God and bringing the Gospel to the nations! The Lord truly has blessed me through each of you, and I can't give enough thanks for your faithfulness to support me in prayer!

*Be on the lookout for a really exciting update in the next couple days! I will be sharing more about outreach and how you can partner with the Lord in His work in the nations!
Until next time and for the Gospel,
Alexandria Simon
