THURSDAYS & SUNDAYS AT THE BRYAN MUSEUM (1315 21ST ST.)
Charlotte & Her Turkey on Coast MagazineHello friends!

Feels like it's been ages since I've seen y'all! It was incredibly hard to sleep in on Sunday, as it was to make the decision to cancel on Thursday after that crazy rain storm! We hope that minor change in schedule didn't affect your week too much. You can always find out our latest updates on social media: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

Now, here are three things you should know about the next couple markets:

1) We're narrowing the finalist for t-shirt design in person! Vote at market November 14 & November 17.

2) Thanksgiving is now only two weeks away! Why not plan a super fresh, super local feast for your family and friends? A few notable mentions: Spring Hill Farms will have turkeys this Sunday ranging from 8-20lb. (you can email her ahead of time to place an order!), Food of Life has some delicious alternative options in the works, stock up on Local Roast Co. coffee to battle the after-dinner snoozes, or order some sweet treats from She-Devil Pastry or Splendid Life Cake Bar!  The possibilities are endless... but plan ahead. We'll be closed on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 28.

3) If you're looking to give back this season, consider being a Friend of GOFM. Every contribution makes a difference in each arm of GOFM's programming.

That's all for now. See ya later, Galveston!

Hard Hats for Little Heads Helmet Giveaway
11/24 - Hard Hats for Little Heads Helmet Giveaway + Zipp E-Bikes Bike Safety Rodeo
We’re grateful to be the official host site for TMA’s Hard Hats for Little Heads! This program helps reduce brain injuries and encourage kids to exercise by giving away bicycle helmets.

Bring the little ones (and their bikes) to GOFM on Sunday, November 24 to learn more about the program, partake in the Zipp E-Bikes Bike Safety Rodeo, and the first 30 children will receive a FREE helmet!

Zipp E-Bikes will also be hosting their second Bike Safety Rodeo. Kids will learn about bike safety, practice and develop skills that will help them become better and safer bicyclists.

Thanks to UTMB’s Phi Beta Pi Medical Fraternity for rounding up all the helmets for this event.

GOFM Recipe of the Week Radishes

Radish Tartines

Aren't these veggies radish-ing? We love the spicy, crisp taste of this root vegetable and usings the greens as a sauteed side or pesto. Here's a light dish you can make in the morning or ask a snack with your new found veggies from Galveston's Own Farmers Market!
  • 1 baguette (or Galveston Bread of choice)
  • 6 tbsp. salted butter (or radish green pesto!)
  • 16 radishes
  • Sea salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Toast bread slices, cut side down, on a baking pan until lightly crisp, about 8 minutes.
  2. Transfer pan to a wire rack and cool for about 1 minute. Spread 1 tablespoon butter onto each slice.
  3. Top with a single layer of radishes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
