A reminder that the next Sheffield Climate Alliance meeting is taking place on Tuesday 19th November at the Quaker Meeting House, St James St, S1 2EW. Doors are open from 6.45pm, with a prompt start at 7pm. This month, there will be a full discussion from different political perspectives on how the 'Green New Deal' can be achieved. We'll also be discussing potential questions on climate change to raise with Parliamentary Candidates and also discuss the next 'Youth Strike' action on Friday 29th November. All are welcome, so please come along.

We Need A Green New Deal To Tackle The Emergency
This day conference discusses the detail of a 'Green New Deal' and covers the important elements such as zero carbon housing, citizens assemblies, youth organising and green jobs. Hosted by The Green Party with talks and workshops from Extinction Rebellion and Sheffield Climate Alliance. Saturday 16th November from 10am at The Sheffield Royal Society For The Blind, 5 Mappin Street, Sheffield S1 4DT. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided, but please bring a packed lunch. Dan Jarvis, Declare a Climate Emergency. 
Sheffield Friends of The Earth will be meeting outside Sheffield Town Hall to perform a stunt involving a giant cardboard ambulance with members dressed as doctors. Earth in Crisis: Oh, the Sanxia
This film studies the completion of China’s Three Gorges Dam, in which some of China’s most prominent political figures past and present are taken to task for rushing the project.The result is long-term ecological impact, widespread elimination of local economies and wildlife. Climate Communications Hub
This month's session will have Dr Aarti Bansal from 'Greener Practices' who will discuss the steps being taken to raise climate awareness within the NHS. We'll also be discussing the previous month's 'Carbon Literacy' event, discuss how you are getting on with your conversations and hopefully squeeze in a round of 'Good News, Bad News' exercise. Thursday 21st November, 7.30pm, Council Room at Firth Hall, University of Sheffield.

'Disappearing Islands'
A special, free event organised by Sheffield Cuba Solidarity Campaign, with support from Sheffield Global Justice Now and Sheffield Climate Alliance. We know that climate change is responsible for rising sea levels and other disastrous impacts across the world. What are islanders doing about it? Dorothy Guerrero, from Global Justice Now, will talk about the threat to Pacific islands and what can and should be done. Wednesday 27th November 2019 at 7.30pm, Central United Reformed Church, 60 Norfolk St, Sheffield S1 2JB. 

Youth Strike for Climate - Day Of Action, Friday 29th November
Arguably the second biggest day of Youth Strike action in Sheffield after 20th September, this event looks to coincide with two unions possibly taking industrial action. Assemble at 11.30am at Devonshire Green, at 12.30pm march to City Hall and 1pm rally taking place outside City Hall. Reclaim the Power National Gathering
Reclaim the Power are having their national gathering in Sheffield from 30th November to 1st December. There will be reflections and discussions on Saturday and a focus on what happens during 2020 on Sunday. Taking place at Union Street, 18-22 Union Street, S1 2JP. Smithy Wood Litter Pick
The monthly litter pick will take place on the 1st of December from 10am to 12pm. Please wear sturdy, weather appropriate shoes and bring gloves where possible. To find out more, click here

Sheffield Against Fracking
The monthly meeting will take place on Tuesday 3rd December from 7pm at The Old Queens Head Pub, with a nod to all things festive while discussing how to campaign on a total fracking ban. 40 Pond Street, S1 2BG. 

South Yorkshire Fossil Free 
The Divestment sub-group of SCA will have their last meeting of the year at 5.4pm on Wednesday 11th December in the upstairs room of The Blue Moon Cafe. Look out for the bike panniers around their table! 2 St James's Street, S1 2EW.

Sheffield City Region's Active Travel Map
This map has been launched by Sheffield City Region and is for everyone who wants to make journeys on foot or by bike across our region, for any purpose, including those who don’t walk or cycle often and people who use mobility aids. SCR would like your comments on the infrastructure already in place to point out what works well and what doesn’t. Click here to find the map and start interacting!

Big City Conversation
Sheffield City Council are having a Big City Conversation with citizens, partners, community groups and other stakeholders across the city over the coming months. They want to hear from Sheffielders in every part of the city about the issues that matter to them, their communities and neighbourhoods, and how the Council serves the city.
