Food Waste is one of the biggest emitters of greenhouse gases in the world. What solutions are being implemented locally to reduce our food waste and make our future more sustainable?

Find out at the Vine Meetup Why Food Waste Matters for People and the Planet on November 19 at the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, including a keynote address on “Food Waste, It’s Impact and the Potential for Innovation” by Edward Spang, professor at UC Davis. There also will be talks by California food-waste innovators, including Meredith Roberts, Sierra Energy; Ernst Bertone, The Freedge and Davis Night Market; Steve Zicari, California Safe Soil; Caroline Cotto, Renewal Mill; Trevor Fowles, Biomilitus; and Jennifer Gilbert from The City of Davis, California.

The Davis Food Co-op is sponsoring this FREE event. Register for your tickets today: bit.ly/foodwastemeetup
Ask your cashier to round up for local charities. In November we are raising money for Davis Community Meals & Housing.
