LATEST LASER NEWS
Issue 136, November 2019

Welcome to the November Newsletter

from Lisa Harman, Laser Projects Engineer at Scitech Precision Ltd.

The festive season is knocking at the door as the nights close in and here at Scitech we have received an early Christmas present! Our laser suite has recently been upgraded to include a Pharos femto second laser. This is very exciting and will allow us to machine more precise, higher quality parts with minimal thermal damage in a wider range of materials.

Despite the uncertainties of Brexit our global business has grown and next year Scitech Precision will move into brand new, bespoke laser laboratories remaining on site at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

We look forward to attending the ILAS 2020 event in May, which is also the 25th anniversary of AILU, to hear about further developments within the community and to meet old and new faces. Our recent attendance at the Job Shop meeting at the Mini plant in Oxford proved both fascinating and useful.
