Bright Idea #1: Equity in Education: A Twitter Community
Our team just wrapped up season 6 of our podcast series Step In: Conversations about Equity in Education. Through our journey we've had the privilege of interviewing educators who are passionate about stepping in for equity, and we've explored and learned from a wealth of people and resources. The @ClearTheAir Twitter community quickly became a valuable learning network and we plan to continue engaging with this group of passionate educators. We invite you to step into conversations centered around the responsibility of educators to create a more just and equitable society at #ClearTheAir on Twitter!

Bright Idea #2: 2020 Digital Vision Boards
A few years ago, teachers and I were brainstorming activities for junior high students to do the day they came back from winter break. Instead of having students write their New Years resolutions, as they did in previous years, we decided that we would have them design a Vision Board using a digital tool like Adobe Spark, Canva, PosterMyWall, Google Slides, or Google Draw that would be beneficial for them to get familiar with for a future assignment.
We began designing our own vision boards using a variety of tools, so that we would have something to share with students and had so much! The students ended up loving the assignment. Each year I revised my original board and it continues to bring me joy. Here is the Vision Board Lesson if you'd like to get a head start on your January planning for students or staff.

Bright Idea #3: ISTE Coaching Standards
Have you explored the recently released ISTE Coaching Standards? The ISTE Standards are embedded in all of the learning experiences designed by the Digital Learning Team at Region 10. These standards "will deepen your practice, promote collaboration with peers, challenge you to rethink traditional approaches, and prepare students to drive their own learning." Check out all of the ISTE Standards here.
