SHORT NORTH ARTS DISTRICT PUTS THE ART + SOUL IN HOLIDAY SHOPPING
Hundreds of small, local, and art-centric businesses provide unique holiday experience in Columbus
COLUMBUS, OH (November 15, 2019) -- This holiday season, Columbus residents and visitors from near and far are invited to Shop with their Art + Soul in the Short North Arts District. Throughout the month of December, the Short North Arts District and its more than 300 businesses, which are predominantly small and locally owned or headquartered, will provide a one-of-a-kind holiday shopping experience in Columbus, featuring an array of holiday programming, promotions, and creatively curated selections.
With 86% locally owned or headquartered businesses, including more than 20 art galleries and venues, Columbus shoppers have the opportunity to shop from and support some of the city’s best small businesses, artists, makers, and entrepreneurs, all within a one-mile stretch in the Short North Arts District. Additionally, the District will boast a bounty of holiday events, activities and performances along High Street all month long, including:
- The Short North Arts District Holiday Trail presented by Huntington National Bank: From Dec. 1 through Dec. 31, shop at participating Short North Arts District businesses to collect Holiday Trail stickers. Collect five stickers and redeem for a $50 parking meter gift card.
- Holiday Bazaar + Deck the District Tree Lighting: The Sunday Bazaar is back for the holiday season on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., to celebrate Small Business Weekend and the start of holiday shopping! Shop, eat, and explore favorite Short North Arts District retailers featuring pop-ups of all kinds, and enjoy holiday performers all along High Street. End the day at the annual Deck the District Tree Lighting in Poplar Park from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Holiday Hop + Pop-Up Shop: On Saturday, Dec. 7, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., celebrate the Art + Soul of the holiday season during the biggest Gallery Hop of the year at Holiday Hop! Visit favorite Short North Arts District stores and galleries, enjoy special holiday performances, vote for the best holiday decorations in the Window Display Contest, and shop from local artisans from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Hop Pop-Up Shop presented by Graduate Columbus.
- Sundays with Santa Claus: On Sunday, Dec. 1, 8, 15, and 22, visit and snap a photo with Santa as he stops at favorite businesses in the Short North Arts District. Times and locations to be announced.
