Personnel transitions

Jennifer Potts has been appointed to the new position of assistant registrar-AGS Student Services effective Nov. 1. As a result of some restructuring, all AGS student services staff have been reassigned to the academic records department and will report directly to Jennifer while continuing to maintain strong lines of communication with the regional directors and others at the regional learning centers. Although Jennifer will be relocating eventually from Columbia to the main campus, her contact information will remain the same until the transition is complete. Serving SWU’s AGS students in Columbia since 2005, Jennifer was first employed as site assistant and, then, as student services coordinator in 2007. She received her BA in biology from SWU in 2005 and her MA in intercultural studies from Columbia International University in 2008. Congratulations, Jennifer!

The Office of Planning and Assessment has moved this week from Terry Hall to the AGS building on the corner of Clayton Street and Wesleyan Drive. New phone numbers for Dr. Daryl Couch, AVP of planning and assessment, and Cheryl Parris, secretary for planning and assessment, are, respectively, Ext. 5549 and 5542.

All Campus Meeting reminder

The President invites all faculty and staff to attend an all campus meeting on Monday, Oct. 31, in Folger Fine Arts Auditorium from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The meeting purpose is to provide an update following this week’s Board of Trustees meeting. Please arrange for base coverage of your departments in an effort to encourage optimum attendance. Regional learning centers’ faculty and staff will join the meeting by videoconference. Thank you in advance for your participation.

Employee giving update - luncheon

So far this fiscal year, employees have given $17,197.06 to SWU ($7,991.40 to Promise Fund and $9,206.02 Restricted Funds). A huge “Thank You” to all who have partnered with us, so far, to make a difference in the lives of students at SWU! As a token of our appreciation, the development office staff would like to invite employees who have given or pledged to give during the 2011-2012 year to attend a "Thank You" lunch Thursday, November 10. Please reply to Mary Costello in the development office after receiving your personal invitation to RSVP.

It’s not too late to make a donation or pledge. Download this commitment card, complete it and email to Mary Costello at mcostello@swu.edu or drop it off at the SWU post office (Box #1925). The Promise Fund goal for employees this year is $35,000. To support a fund other than the Promise Fund, contact Mary Costello. There are many projects on campus that need your support. Prayerfully consider what you can do for SWU by returning a commitment card today!
