The Bedford Promise is Looking for Davis & Lane Ambassadors
The BEDFORD PROMISE is a parent volunteer movement with the objective to reduce, if not eliminate, the social pressure to have a personal data device. OUR GOAL is to give our children a childhood that is free of digital distraction, manipulation and exploitation; to encourage children to put their devices down and pick their heads-up; to bring the focus back to face-to-face human interaction. We want smartphones to be the exception, not the rule.
We help organize parent/school discussions, disseminate awareness through booths at town events and maintain a website for parent education and connection. Nearly 20% of this year’s entering JGMS middle schoolers have signed onto the Bedford Promise with another 5% following the Promise guidelines! We are making a real difference!
WE ARE WELCOMING NEW AMBASSADORS to propel the message of the Founding Members whose children are aging out of Bedford Elementary Schools. If you already support empowering your children to control their technology use, please consider becoming an Ambassador. The Founding Members will continue to be the support for community outreach events and will provide you the education and information you need to reach out to friends, neighbors and acquaintances with one-on-one conversations to spread the message about who we are and why it’s so important.
We can’t keep the movement growing without YOU!
Please email bedfordpromise@gmail.com with questions, for information or to become an Ambassador!

Donations to the Appreciation Fund will be appropriated throughout the year to fund programs that show appreciation to the teachers and staff at our schools. These include: funds for teachers supplies, holiday and end of year gifts for school support staff, hospitality and appreciation.
