1: Biology students participating in a microscope lab
Students took a closer look at the plant cells they've been learning about by staining bananas and potatoes with iodine before examining the results under magnification. Students were also able to see the chloroplasts inside the cells of an Anacharis leaf (inset).
2: Yekusiel Paley and Gavriel Factor carrying their scale model of the Mizbeach (altar)
As part of Rabbi Loffman's Chumash class, students recently chose a different vessel from the Mishkan on which to prepare a presentation. 3: Elie Kemp studying a Yeshiva brochure during a recent Yeshiva presentation
The season is upon us! With college applications mostly complete, Israeli Yeshivas have begun making visits to our school to recruit for the wide range of programs that are available to our graduates. We spend time working with each student figuring out what the best next step will be for them upon graduation. A majority of our graduates elect to spend a year or more studying and serving in Israel, and many even take the step of attending university there or making Aliyah!
4: Students listening to a presentation from Dr. David Luchins
Dr. David Luchins, Dean at Touro College and chair of its political science department, spoke to the boys about the current state of the American Jewish community. Dr. Luchins is also a national vice president of the Orthodox Union and a national officer of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs. As always, Dr. Luchins provides a lucid and eye-opening global perspective for our young men.
