CPT Application/Renewal Period for Spring Semester 2020 NOW OPEN!

Hello International Students!

We hope your Fall semester has been successful and we are excited for the upcoming Spring semester! We know things can get very busy this time of year, so we are now accepting new CPT and CPT renewal applications from students interested in participating in Curricular Practical Training (CPT) for the 2020 Spring Semester (January 6, 2020 to May 3, 2020).

We are also excited to present a new efficient CPT application process that allows students to apply for CPT through online forms! Please do read all the information below to make sure you follow this new process of applying.

An important reminder, it is the responsibility of all F-1 students that plan to continue their CPT or apply for CPT to submit all required documents (see below) every semester. Incomplete CPT paperwork will be returned and your application will not be processed until the completed documents are submitted.
*Please note that missing CPT paperwork and/or failing to meet the academic requirements for CPT will cause processing delays and may even result in your application being denied.*

CPT Application Dates:

November 15 to December 1st - Early Bird Processing - Complete applications submitted by this date will be processed with the highest priority. In order to be considered for the Early Bird Processing, all documents must be complete and all tuition payments must be made in full. We will begin issuing these I-20s the first full week of August (August 5th through August 9th).
*Students must meet the Academic Requirements (including minimum GPA Requirements for their program level and passing the internship course) in order to be eligible for Early Bird Processing. If a further academic review is necessary, this will delay the processing time. For new students in their first session/semester, we will need to review your grades in your current classes in order to make a proper judgment on if you are on track to meet the Academic Requirements.

December 1st to December 20th - Normal Processing  - Complete applications submitted by this date will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis once all the Early Bird applications are complete. Please note that processing may take longer based on the number of applications received.

No CPT applications will be accepted after December 20th. Students that miss the deadline will need to wait until the next available CPT period.

STEP 1: Submit the online New CPT Application

STEP 2: Submit the following documents as separate attachments to your CPT program email:

Email Reminders and CPT I-20 Pick Up Notification

Important CPT email reminders and updates will be announced through the student's Westcliff email address (not personal email address). When the CPT I-20 is ready for pick up, students will also be notified through their Westcliff email address.

CPT Denial Notice

If the CPT application is not approved, students will be notified through their Westcliff email address. In addition, please note that the amount that was paid for the Internship course will be credited back to the student's account and deducted from the next semester's tuition. If the student would like to request a refund, they will need to contact the Billing Department billing@westcliff.edu.

I-20 Pick-Up Policy

I-20s are only released to the F-1 Student the I-20 belongs to. Students may not have their friends or family pick up their I-20s. Furthermore, SEVP has advised all universities not to send scanned I-20s through email due to high risk of fraud. Following SEVP's recommendations, Westcliff University will NOT be sending scanned I-20s.
