ESP10 conference welcomes over 750 participants from 65+ countries

The 10th ESP World Conference took place between 21-25 October in Hannover, Germany and we are happy to report that it was a great success!

With more than 750 participants from over 65 countries, ESP10 was the biggest ESP conference yet, with the widest international outreach. The conference program featured impactful keynote speaches and panel discussions, sessions on diverse topics, a poster session, business day including a market place and the brand new ‘ES in Practice’ competition, a documentary screening and multiple excursions.

The conference set a great example by having the majority of keynote speakers and session hosts be female, child daycare was available, all the food was organic, local, and vegetarian and the participants collected over 1200 euro in donations to a carbon offset project – Moor Futures.

The conference proceedings are available here, you can find the official photos here

Call for ES evaluation studies

ESP is currently in the process of updating and upgrading the Ecosystem Services Valuation Database (ESVD). Do you have a study on ecosystem service(s) valuation? Or did you participate in a project in which economic valuation was conducted? Then you can be part of our initiative and help us bring the information where it is needed! Read more.

Survey: How can we assess the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process on the ES concept?

Last month at ESP10 a session on effective teaching strategies took place. The organisers are working on reinforcing teaching and education activities within ESP. Within this endeavour, they have prepared a survey, for analysing the state of the art on Teaching Ecosystem Service, so further steps can be identified.

You can help by filling out this survey. It takes 15 minutes at most and your contribution will be greatly appreciated!
