I want to send out a big thank you to everyone that came out for the club meeting. It was great to connect with a room full of club members. The business portion was dry. Still, we passed a necessary motion that updates our Schedule A. After the coffee break, Mike Knippel and Wendy Langelo gave an image-intense presentation of their experience on the Myra Creek watershed Traverse. It left my skin itching for a bushwack!

Here we sit, midway through November and still waiting for winter. I suppose It's sidetracked in the interior and Alberta. Regardless, as we approach December, it's time to start our end of the year routines. For now, that means surveys! In the next few days, you'll receive your end of year survey. Use it as your opportunity to provide anonymous feedback about your experience in the club. The executive uses the information collected to guide our decision for the coming year.

As a note, the club is working on a Code of Conduct and Harassment Policy. As the club grows in size, we must provide a clear voice about our position on these topics. In the coming months, we will create a draft and present it to members before the spring meeting. To this end, you may have already noticed that we are sharing more articles about diversity in the backcountry. We want to make sure we are promoting a diverse perspective that reflects our membership.

Matthew Lettington

@island_mountain_ramblers Look! We found a gully to descend on Mook Peak! Sheesh, what would a hike be without that?
