With this November newsletter comes some sad, and yet, hopeful tidings. Our Executive director, Mary Rose has had some medical setbacks. She is doing well but is in rehab at this time. We expect her to return home in a few days with some home physical therapy.
In the meantime, the Art Center is up and running with two employees, Laura Griffith and Sylvia Parke and a host of volunteers including Bobbie Mussett and Dianne Govella. Yours truly is on an already planned and much needed vacation and will be back on Nov 21.
Right now, the art center has several events on the near horizon. One is our Family Art Days, Nov. 16, 1:00 to 3:00. Bring you and your family and participate in some arty fun! ( Kids must be accompanied by an adult).
We are offering a Wine, Whine and Design class on Nov. 17th but it is already booked solid.
The next event is the Island Holiday Market on Nov. 30th and Dec 1st at the Port A Civic Center. Come and enjoy Christmas shopping at its very best.
On Dec. 6th is our First Friday Reception at the Art Center. It is also our annual Christmas party. If you haven’t already, you can decorate a Christmas ornament for our tree and make a contribution (any amount) to the good of the Art Center and it’s continued success in and for the community.
And last but not least, on Dec. 8th is our Annual Student Art Show. Ribbons will be awarded to winners from the high school and middle school of Flour Bluff, the Seashore Learning Center and Port Aransas. This exhibit is amazing and filled with so much talent. See details for all these events in the newsletter below.
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving surrounded by family and friends and lots of turkey and all the trimmings. Keep Mary Rose in your thoughts and prayers! And Happy Thanksgiving!
