Your PTA has a Hospitality Chair who works hard to make our teachers and staff members feel appreciated.  This year, we have hosted a pretzel bar (for Hogg-toberfest) and provided every teacher with the yummiest cupcake.  In December, we plan to host a nice holiday luncheon for our hard-working teachers and staff.  Meet Erika, our current Hospitality Chair...

Erika Donnie, Hospitality Chair

Hometown: Houston, Texas

Years in Houston: My whole life!

Children:  three daughters, Kennedy 9th, Madison 7th, and Reagan 2nd

Reason for serving on the PTA: I serve on the PTA board to stay connected and to contribute. Serving on the board is one of the best ways to learn the needs of the school and be a part of the solution.  There is a large gap in the resources that are provided to our kids and what they actually need to thrive, and by serving I am helping to bridge that gap.

Fun Fact: I'm super competitive and athletic and as a result I've broken every bone on the right side of my body.

What do you most enjoy about this role of Hospitality Chair? This is my second and unfortunately final term as Hospitality Chair, and I've  found this position to be beyond rewarding.  There is nothing more enjoyable than coming up with creative ways to tell all 88 staff members how much their contribution means to our kids.  It truly is an honor to be able to serve and get to know such an amazing group of up custodians, teachers and administrators.

Auction Results

We hope you had as much fun as we did at this year's Hogg-toberfest!  How did we do?  Come to the November 19th meeting to hear all about our Hogg-toberfest Auction Results, but here is a sneak peek: We are still collecting revenue from the event, but as of November 2, 2019, Hogg-toberfest netted over $55,000 in funds that the PTA will use to pay for teacher grants!  That is over $20,000 more than we expected to raise based on last year's big event.

Grants?  What grants?  Your PTA has a Grant Program that is open to our teachers and staff who fill out an application for items they wish for their classrooms or the school.  Full report for our Membership in our December newsletter.  Stay tuned!

Did you miss auction and want to contribute?  Yes, please!  We have some spots open in some of our auction parties for kids, adults, and the whole family.  Check them out right here:  https://www.hoggpta.org/auction-store. These parties are a great way to meet some new families, try a new activity, and become more involved in the Razorback community.  There's something for everybody!
