Papercourt Vice Commodore Honoured by RYA - Outstanding Contribution Award
We are delighted to announce that Jeremy Riley, who has co-ordinated the youth sailing on Saturday Mornings for many years now, has been honoured with the RYA Outstanding Contribution Award, which will be presented by HRH Princess Anne. Jeremy is naturally thrilled, but says that he is receiving this award on behalf of everyone who volunteers at Papercourt. Congratulations Jeremy.
Full RYA announcement can be found by clicking the button below.
Our new race format is in place up to the end of the year with two races both morning and afternoon every Sunday. John Panting is currently leading this series. For full details, click the Winter Programme button at the bottom, which also includes details of class training days.
One new development for this year is a Club Sprint Race Day the first one taking place on the 1st December. We will run lots of short races over a comparatively short course with a very quick turnaround between each of the races. Hopefully getting in 4 races in the morning and a similar number in the afternoon. Great fun, with prizes on the day so do come along.

Sailing Secretary
Quick reminder that in the winter season, wet or dry suits must be worn by all sailors
Thank you for those members who have already signed up for duties next year. We are still thin on the ground for January and February so would really appreciate members signing up for duties during this time. All members over the age of 18 are required to do 2 duties per year, one in the first half (Jan to June) and another in the second half (July to Dec). It works best if members choose their own duties rather than wait for auto-allocation. Once duties are auto-allocated it is members responsibility to arrange a swap if the date given is inconvenient. The next auto-allocation date is at the end of November, so please sign up via Sail Club manager before then. Many thanks. http://www.papercourt-sc.org.uk/duties-guidance-notes/
Please go to the above link and then sign in to Sailing Club Manager to sign up for duties.
Fish and Chip Supper and Mini Quiz - 10th December
The Club's traditional antidote to all those Turkey dinners and office parties, we have our Fish and Chip Supper with mini-quiz on Tuesday 10th December in the clubhouse at 7.30pm. Just £10 per head for delicious Fish and Chips with bonus of a year end mini-quiz as well. Book by emailing Jenny Snow on snowmail@btinternet.com. Unlike the big quiz nights, seating is informal on the night, so no need to make up teams. There may be prizes, but will certainly be lots of fun.
