"Cleanliness..."
We all want our homes to be clean and tidy, and spend a lot of time, effort, and money on upkeep and maintenance. If guests are coming or there is going to be a family gathering, we try to make sure that everything is in order. If there are problems with a leaking roof or an area that needs some paint we don’t hesitate to take care of it.
Shouldn’t it be just as important for us to be diligent in taking care of God’s house? While our hope for years has been to have a new building at Highland Valley and Highway 67, for now we are still at 1735 Main Street, and it is important that we continue to take care of our church home. Just as we wouldn’t think of having visitors into our home if it was cluttered and dirty, we don’t want a visitor’s first impression of our church to be negative. It is also important for us to keep our property looking good until our new church building is built. All in the community are aware that this land belongs to Spirit of Joy, and if it is overgrown with weeds or has piles of debris it reflects poorly on our church.
As with most tasks, many hands make light work. The most valuable thing we have to give is often our time. There will be opportunities to help both at the church and on the land in the coming months. A general church cleanup will take place in early December to prepare for the Christmas season. Please consider helping with this.
Suggestions for improvement, along with donations of material, time, or money are welcome and always appreciated.
