Watershed 3.0 - Visioning Session
Watershed began with a vision: to build a school that truly reflected the best research and thinking on learning and teaching.  This continues to this day, as we engage students in learning directly from experiences in the world, as we help them pursue work that matters to themselves and their communities, and as we build a school community where all are honored and valued as individuals with a contribution to make.

Though it is an oversimplification, we can think of Watershed’s history in two phases: Watershed 1.0 on Canyon Road—a time of energy and excitement, a time of overcoming the inevitable struggles of building a viable organization.  Watershed 2.0 has been a time of stabilization and refinement—we are now an established school in Boulder known for our innovative approaches. It is now time for us to take the next step—Watershed 3.0—to be a school that is truly thriving, serving our students well, contributing to the Boulder community, and being a beacon of effective educational practice for schools around the world.

We are currently building the vision that will guide us into Watershed 3.0, and would love your help.  We will be holding a Visioning Session on Thursday, November 14th from 5:30-7:00p at Watershed.  We will have appetizers, drinks and spend time thinking together about Watershed 3.0!  We hope you will join us. Please
RSVP here so we can get an accurate count for the evening.

Lost and Found
The lost and found has become more lost than found! Please check for your things. We will donate unclaimed items at the end of the day on Friday, November 22nd (before Thanksgiving break) and again on Friday, December 13th (after FAIR).

Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh Update
The Watershed Parent Association continues to explore the possibility of supplementing the current Monday, Tuesday, and Friday lunch delivery offered through Wholesome Foods.  To order on Thursday, November 14th, follow these directions:
Simply submit and pay for your student’s takeout order online by 10:30 am on Thursday (or up to a week in advance)
using this link. Please do NOT use the “Group Order” feature on the site, enter it as a “Takeout Order” and specify a pickup time of 11:00a.  VERY IMPORTANT:  When ordering, you must indicate Watershed School and your child’s name where it is circled in blue (please click here for an example),  otherwise our parent runner will not know to pick your order up.  A parent will pick up the orders each Thursday and have the lunches to school by the 11:15 lunch period.
If the response indicates interest in this restaurant as a lunch provider, we might be able to offer this long term. Questions? Contact
Megan Dahlstrom or Tricia Chambers.
Garbanzo has GF options and other allergen information can be
found here.

Math Moments
Our math classes are unlike any other math classes so we want to highlight their work in our new Math Moments section! Keep an eye out for updates!

Precalculus students just started the trigonometry unit. To gain a better understanding of how to generate sine and cosine functions, they utilized bike wheels. Each group collected data on the height of a point off the ground as the wheel rotates. They graphed the data and then wrote a function to model the data.
