HoTPCA Annual Meeting & Potluck

Join us on Sunday, November 24 for the HoTPCA Potluck!

Mark your calendars to join us for the HoTPCA Annual Meeting & Potluck from 3:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, November 24 at The High Road on Dawson! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet RPCVs, renew or start your membership, hear annual updates, and get excited about next year’s goals and events with good food and warm friendships.

At the meeting, you may renew or start your annual HoTPCA membership! Dues are $15 for the year, benefiting our grant program and HoTPCA programming. You will be able to purchase raffle tickets, international calendars, and pay your annual membership dues with cash, check, or credit card.

Regional breakdown for potluck dishes*:

South & Latin America: Sides/Appetizers
Asia & Pacific Islands: Salads (get creative!)
North Africa & Europe: Main Dishes
Sub-Saharan Africa: Desserts

*There is no need to bring beverages for this event since The High Road on Dawson offers drink service.

RPCVs Needed for Girl Rising Film Screening and Panel Event
Wednesday, November 20, 2019: Film at 8pm, Panel at 10pm

Texas Global is hosting a screening of the fifth university version of the hit documentary Girl Rising on campus in the Union Theater and we would love to have a small panel after the film with RPCVs that work in girls education / empowerment.

If you'd like to be a panelist, please reach out to set up a quick interview about your experience to ensure it's a good fit with the group! As we all know, you didn't have to be an Education Volunteer to impact girls' education, so all sectors are welcomed.

Recruiting for HoTPCA Board Positions (2020-2022)

The super awesome HoTPCA board has three open positions to fill this for the upcoming 2-year term. We meet quarterly over a potluck brunch, it's a great way to give back to the community, looks fancy on a resume, and the HoTPCA board consists of a very fun bunch of people.

OPEN COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITIONS (2020-2022):

Communications Chair

Maintain website, social media channels, and email platforms,
Compose and send quarterly email newsletters to members,
Create PR, signage, and promotional materials as needed, and
Support the Board and Committees by acting as a liaison to all media.

Partnerships Chair

Serve as liaison between HoTPCA and similar organizations,
Coordinate partnerships and collaborations to further the HoTPCA mission, and
Promote and facilitate third goal activities when possible.
