Can Digital Solutions Reduce Climate Change Impacts?

Climate Change Technology
Washington, DC - Nov 20 - RSVP Now
At the same time the United States withdraws from the Paris Climate Agreement, the climate crisis is escalating: Work on climate change cuts across multiple industries within the ICT4D community. Addressing development issues in health, agriculture and food security, economic development, and emergency preparedness and response, may address the impact, but do not address climate change itself.

In fact, it could be argued that without addressing the root cause, the rest won’t matter. So, how can digital technology help turn the tide? Can we use recent technological advances to help save valuable resources before it’s too late?

Please RSVP now to join the next Technology Salon DC to explore the intersection of digital technology and climate change. We’ll explore questions like:
  • How can we harness digital technology to manage natural resources?
  • Can digital solutions make limited resources more impactful?
  • Do other development initiatives exacerbate climate change?
  • Can the rise of open source and open data help us?
  • How do we build local government capacity to address key  issues?
  • How can we stay motivated amidst the current political environment and climate change (or apocalypse) fatigue?
Please RSVP now to explore the potential of digital tools to combat climate change with key experts including: We’ll have coffee and waffles for a morning rush, but seating is limited. Please RSVP Now. Once we reach our 35-person capacity there will be a waiting list!
