LCF Women's Prison ministry will be hosting its Annual Christmas Service at the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center 2:30 - 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
Society may intend prison to be a place of punishment. Still, God can use it as a place of refinement and transformation. He does not give up on those in prison but pursues them in love. Look at something our Savior said about prison ministry:
"I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me…I tell you the truth when you did it to one of the least of these, my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me" Matt.25:36,40
If Jesus were on earth today, would we find Him in the prisons, talking with the most detested inmates? Of course, we would. He would be there "to seek and to save the lost" and to restore them to a relationship with God.
And because the Church is now His representative on earth, prison is where we go as well — calling the lost, confused, abused, and sick to the restoring touch of Jesus. We purpose to help the ladies recognize that no matter how far they've fallen, no one is beyond Jesus' love and power to be restored.
I'm sending this communication out to invite as many women as possible to join us at Hiland for this special Christmas service. The last time we were out there, an army of women came with us and made a massive difference as they prayed and ministered to the inmates. In fact, we received more testimonies from the inmates after that service than we ever had!
If you would like to join us, I need you to respond by signing up this week! Suzanne will have a signup table by the bookstore after the Sunday and Wednesday service. You will only need to provide your name, social security number, driver's license, and signature.
We have to turn in the information early so the Department of Corrections can clear everyone.
