The mission of the Ashland Culture of Peace Commission is to inspire, activate, and model a Culture of Peace in Ashland, Oregon which will serve as a beacon of light for all humanity.
There are many people who question the future and are in despair about the challenges before us individually and as communities. This is understandable as we catch the news headlines of the day. However, there are pragmatic and tangible actions we can take as individuals and communities to co-create a positive pathway forward.
The Ashland Culture of Peace Commission (ACPC) has made specific progress in living its mission as exemplified by the following.
Whether it is working with the Winter Shelter for the unhoused, inspiring Ashland Middle School student Flame Keepers caring for the World Peace Flame, initiating “Peace Officer” decals on police cars, or organizing the Ashland Global Peace Conference, ACPC inspires a community-wide movement dedicated to transforming our attitudes, behaviors, and institutions into ones that foster harmonious relationships with each other and the natural world.
