Hello Lazies.

Last night, the Toronto Raptors snapped a 7-game winning streak over the Los Angeles Lakers’ with a 113-104 victory. The freshly signed Canadian superstar, Pascal Siakam had 24 points and 11 rebounds for the night, while Fred VanVleet finished with 23 points and 10 assists.

The feeling-good Lakers’ were poised and ready for their Sunday matchup against a shorthanded Raptors team. Two key regulars would be out after losing starter Kyle Lowry to a broken left thumb and top reserve Serge Ibaka to a sprained right ankle. But the Lakers went ice cold late in the game and couldn’t rely on their trust-worthy defense to get them back into the match.

The only Laker that didn’t seem to get the memo was Kyle Kuzma, who (kinda) caught fire later in the forth by scoring back-to-back 3-pointers. But it still wasn’t enough as Siakam took over and threw down multiple dunks to seal the game.

You would think that Toronto would be in desperate measures this year from losing two of their NBA championship starting 5 over the summer. But after this recent win, the Raptors are now tied for the league in wins (7-2) and sit one game behind the top-seed Celtics on the Eastern Conference. This Raptors team hasn’t skipped a beat and their “next man up” mentality is on show for the entire league to view. This might’ve been an off night for the Lakers, but the Raptors need to be taken seriously.

Catch you Thursday.
Ed
