Four weeks to go until Light up a Life 2019
The countdown has begun and it’s only four weeks until our Light up a Life switch-on event. 10,000 beautiful lights will be switched on at the hospice by Tracie Powell in memory of her husband Allan. Tracie is looking forward to switching the lights on alongside daughter, Kerry, and grandchildren, Morgan, 17, and Jeyda, 10. You can read the family's story here.
If you would like to sponsor a light in memory of your loved one, please call 0151 343 0778 or or visit www.wirralhospice.org to make a donation online. Lights are available for a minimum donation of £5.00 per light. If you have already sponsored a light, thank you so much for your support, your donation will help us to care for the patients in our care.
Our Light up a Life keepsake tree decorations are also available for a minimum donation of £5 per gold star and £3 per plastic star or circle, this includes postage. The tree decorations are beautiful and are lovely to give to family as a gift or to hang on your own tree at home.
We would like to invite you to join our Light up a Life carol service which will be held in the hospice gardens on Sunday 8th December at 5.30pm. The service is free to attend and all are welcome to come along to remember their loved ones. For each light that is sponsored your loved ones name will be included in the Books of Honour and you will receive a Light up a Life card in their memory. The books of honour will be on display in the hospice from 4pm on 8th December and will remain on display throughout the Christmas period.
There will be free parking for our Light up a Life event in all the nearby Clatterbridge hospital car parks, marshals will direct the traffic to nearby car parks.
Our gift shop will be open from 4pm on Sunday 8th December, selling Christmas cards, diaries, calendars and gifts. We will be serving refreshments in one marquee and there will be fundraising stalls in the other.
To ensure that your loved one's name is included in the Books of Honour in time for our Light up a Life service on Sunday 8th December, please sponsor your light before Wednesday 4th December. For all donations received after this date an additional book will be printed on Christmas Eve.
