November 2019
Dalat has been blessed to welcome many alumni and families home to campus this school year, and many others are reaching out to keep in touch with their dear classmates and friends through their alma mater.
We are delighted to welcome you, connect you, support your reunions near and far, and pray for you and your family. Whether you spend all of your school years or just one of them at Dalat International School, know that you are loved by many here!

Light Up the Eyes of Our Students in 2019
Families, staff, alumni, and friends have given generously over the years to fund improvements like new playgrounds, fitness and sports equipment, service trips and outreach, computers and learning technology, special learning services, music and drama…and much more that enriches education for our students.
Whether you give big or small, each gift impacts a life and benefits students for a lifetime—why not partner with us as we focus on building great futures with great generosity!
Help us light up the eyes of our students this year by participating in the Annual Fund on Fundly.

Getting Together…Minnesota and Illinois 2020!
It’s already been two years since Dalat representatives visited with alumni in the U.S., so we hope to start off the new decade face-to-face! The Alumni Relations team is putting plans together now for alumni gatherings in April 2020. Crown College and Wheaton College are the hubs we are aiming for, but will travel farther to see friendly faces!
If you are interested in helping to plan or host a lunch, dinner, or other gathering in either of those areas next April, please email Cheryl Franceschi at cfranceschi@dalat.org or alumni@dalat.org.
While Dalat only has the resources to visit and plan events in a few places at a time, we can help alumni in other states and countries make plans to host their own gatherings. Let us know if you want to plan a get-together, and we’ll let you know how we can help. alumni@dalat.org.
Mrs. Lee Retires
Long-time beloved staff member Mrs. Lee retired on October 31.
Mrs. Lee began her employment at Dalat on February 9, 1976, as an accounts clerk. In the early 80s, she was promoted to the position of Head Bookkeeper. In total, Mrs Lee served at the finance department for over 43 years. To date, Mrs Lee is the longest serving staff at Dalat.
Throughout her time at Dalat, Mrs. Lee worked in bookkeeping, payroll, petty cash, cash to staff and students, and a lot more.
Fellow staff member Adeline Ang had this to say about Mrs. Lee:
Her contributions and dedication to her work are highly acknowledged by all. Besides all these, those who know her personally will definitely agree that she is a very special and unique person. She is always so full of compassion. Her love and care to all, especially her fellow National Staff will never be forgotten. Most of us (National Staff) are indebted to Mrs. Lee in one way or another – those who appreciates her culinary skills will know what I mean.
Congratulations and happy retirement Mrs. Lee!
Our Condolences to the Family of Raj Pillai
Longtime Dalat staff member Raj Pillai passed away suddenly on November 5. Raj was an active part of our Dalat community and served as an in-house visa service provider, driver, and document server. He was known to staff and students alike as he collected and returned the many passports requiring visas. He was always on the go. He started with Dalat in January 1991 and retired in September 2016. During his last few years at the school, he met his wife Eva and celebrated the birth of daughter Cinta.
Welcome Back to Dalat, Alumni and Friends!

2: Vivian Chang and Courtney Soon, Class of 2019.
Dalat is on LinkedIn. Linked what? Oh, LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a social network for professionals, like Facebook, but for your career. Dalat's been on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter for some time — and yes, you can still follow, friend and like us on all these platforms. We'll be developing our LinkedIn platform in the future—just one more way we value growing our school’s connections across our different groups of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and students.
If this intrigues you, join us on that platform where we’ll share articles, thoughtful leadership pieces, related jobs and opportunities, and build awareness of local and international community involvement. We’ll also post stories of alumni success and gatherings—we value those connections and conversations that are possible with members of our school community.
What’s New With You?
Update your former classmates about the latest happenings in your life. A new job? Recently retired? Did you just get married? Have a baby? Made a major life change? Or maybe you just haven’t been in touch with fellow alumni in some time. We can help you reconnect!
In 3–4 sentences let us know how you are doing and if possible, send a current photo. Please include your full name (including your maiden name) and year of graduation. We will share your brief update on Dalat’s website.
