1.  Groundbreaking being held for SeaWorld's Sesame Place San Diego theme park in Chula Vista

SeaWorld Entertainment and Sesame Workshop, the production organization behind "Sesame Street," will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for the future Sesame Place San Diego theme park.  SeaWorld Entertainment announced last month that it will redevelop the Aquatica San Diego water park into the "Sesame Street"-themed park, the first such theme park on the West Coast and only the second in the country.

2.  Drayton Manor death: Schoolgirl died 'accidentally' on water ride, inquest finds

The death of a schoolgirl who fell from a water ride at Drayton Manor theme park was accidental, an inquest has ruled.  A jury of three men and seven women found after deliberating for four-and-a-half hours on Monday that Evha died an "accidental death".

3.  Dockside Inn and Suites opening date announced for Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando’s eighth hotel, Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites, has announced its grand opening date.  The new value hotel will open on March 17, 2020, joining its sister property, Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites, which opened earlier this summer. The hotel will bring a relaxed, beach vibe and 2,050 new guest rooms to Universal Orlando by the end of 2020, including both standard rooms and 2-Bedroom Suites.

4.  Gulliver’s goes large with latest leisure plans

Gulliver’s World has revealed plans for a Centre Parcs-style holiday village next to its theme park near Warrington.  Advised by County Planning, the theme park operator is drawing up plans for the woodland-themed development, which will include 79 holiday lodges, group accommodation, caravan and camping pitches, a spa and treatment centre, a pet resort, and a welcome suite. The development is pitched at families to take advantage of the growing market for UK-based short breaks.

5.  Super 78 launches Dino Tour at China Dinosaurland.

The award-winning attractions design studio Super 78 has launched Dino Tour at China Dinosaurland in Changzhou. The dark ride is an Immersion Tunnel and the studio’s most ambitious collaboration with the theme park so far.

6.  Rain-hit Q3 slows SeaWorld progress, but annual finances remain on track as new CEO is appointed

Unfavourable weather conditions, shifts in the calendar and an overspend on certain marketing activities, have all contributed to "disappointing" Q3 financial results for SeaWorld.  However, year-to-date figures were more encouraging, with increased revenue, net income and adjusted EBITDA, and SeaWorld said it was pleased with progress towards "optimising our business and operations".

7.  Cedar Fair on course for 'best year' after Q3 results reflect 'strong' consumer demand

North American theme park operator Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, which owns and operates 11 amusement parks and five water parks in the territory, has filed Q3 and year-to-date financial results that show increased revenues and Adjusted EBITDA, but reduced net income.

8.  Harley Quinn Spinsanity coming to Six Flags America in 2020

The tallest and fastest pendulum ride in the DMV (District, Maryland, Virginia) area, Harley Quinn Spinsanity, is coming to Six Flags America in 2020.  This attraction will spin and swing as it takes riders to new heights, reaching a top speed of 70 miles per hour and a maximum swing height of 15 stories at a 120-degree angle. The coaster will rotate counterclockwise over the skyline of Gotham City, offering 40 riders at a time a brief feeling of weightlessness at the apex of the swing.

9.  Rasti Land reveals new Family Ride Shop with Knights theme for 2020

In 2020, the Rasti Land will open a new family attraction, which takes thematically into the time of the knights. The ride swings to several meters height.

10.  EuropaCity CEO responds as Macron abandons the Greater Paris project

EuropaCity CEO Benoit Chang has responded after President Emmanuel Macron withdrew support for the project, which he called “outdated and old-fashioned”.  In a statement, EuropaCity’s Benoit Chang said the “decision is an error that is detrimental to the future of the Val d’Oise”.

11.  Disneyland Resort to refurbish Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride

Disneyland Resort is giving Snow White’s Scary Adventures in Fantasyland a major refurbishment in 2020. The dark ride from opening day will get new show sets, props and scenes.

12.  Sim Leisure expanding theme park business to Asean region and China

Sim Leisure Group, a Dubai-based theme park developer and operator, is looking to expand to China and the Asean region. The company owns and operates the Escape theme park in Penang.  According to EdgeProp.my, Sim Leisure wants to replicate the success of Escape, with a focus on China and the Asean region, such as Indonesia and Thailand.

13.  Credit One Bank Becomes Proud Partner Of Six Flags

PRNewswire/ -- Credit One Bank, a technology and data-driven financial services company, announced its official partnership with Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE:SIX), the world's largest regional theme park company and largest operator of waterparks in North America. Credit One Bank is now a proud partner of Six Flags® offering exclusive in-park benefits to Credit One Bank card members nationwide and a co-branded credit card coming in 2020.

14.  MACALLINE DREAMLAND OCEAN PARK PROJECT ATTRACTS 2-BILLION-YUAN INVESTMENT

The Macalline Dreamland Ocean Park project has been agreed and has attracted a 2 billion investment. The ambitious new project aims to be a leading ocean theme park in China.  The Macalline Dreamland Ocean Park will integrate local culture and support business and tourism. The operator behind the park is Red Star Macalline Group, a China-based company which operates home decoration and furniture stores.

15.  KUNMING SUNAC LAND TO OPEN IN DECEMBER

Kunming Sunac Land is to officially open to the public on December 21, 2019. The park will comprise of Kunming Sunac Sea World and Kunming Sunac Snow World. Tickets can now be purchased to access the two new amusement parks.  Hailed as a flagship project of Sunac cultural tourism in southwest China, Kunming Sunac Land is located next to Dianchi Lake at the foot of the West Mountain, on the Yannan-Guizhou Plateau near Kunming, Yunnan.

16.  Disneyland 'Tiki' Birds Among Vast Theme Park Auction

A Los Angeles gallery is preparing to auction more than 1,500 rare items from Disneyland and Walt Disney World, dating back to the theme park's founding in the 1950s.  Mike Van Eaton, co-owner of Van Eaton Galleries, said on Monday that the auction traces the history of the famed park, featuring items such as the original 1953 prospectus that Walt Disney used to pitch to financiers ahead of the park's 1955 opening in southern California, an original map of Disneyland, and other signage.

17.  Magic Kingdom to be Ruled by Upcharge Events in 2020

Upcharge events at Disney Parks are nothing new, but it looks like 2020 is going to be particularly busy for add-on experiences at the Magic Kingdom, as Disney has recently announced dates for three returning upcharge experiences at this park for the first half of next year., which will have upcharge experiences available at least once a week starting next January.  

18.  Tourism treats: Universal Orlando shares peek at holiday sweets

The winter holidays in Central Florida are known for cooler weather, decorations and, of course, the food — and Universal Orlando Resort is sharing what it's cooking up for this holiday season.  The theme park giant, owned by Philadelphia-based Comcast Corp., now offers a peek at what's on the menu across several venues for these coming months. Some of the foods can be enjoyed by the entire family and others are only for those 'adulting' their ways through the holidays. (Translation: Booze.)

19.  $42,000 fine issued after Carowinds ride severs ride inspector’s hand

A ride at Carowinds reportedly severed an inspector’s hand at Carowinds earlier this year. Now, Cedar Fair, which owns the Carolina amusement park, may be forced to pay a $42,000 fine, WSOC reports.

9.  Now Open: Dangerzone Arcade in San Tan Valley

Metro Phoenix’s arcade and game bar scene has leveled up in recent years. Local joints offering pinball machines, consoles, or arcade games are in abundance these days. And new spots are popping all the time, including a recent arrival in the far end of the southeast Valley.

10.  Own your own sledding resort near Lake Tahoe for $6 million

The Kingvale Recreational Resort, just off Highway 80 in Soda Springs (Nevada County) is for sale for $6 million. The 297-acre property is currently home to a popular sledding and inner-tubing hill, with additional activities like snowmobiling, ATV riding and camping available.

1.  Major £150m Merthyr Tydfil scheme with ski slope and water park will be 'transformational'

A major development in Merthyr Tydfil which would include a ski slope and water park could be as “transformational” for the area as a similar project has been for a former Dutch mining town.  That’s the view of those behind the £150m Rhydycar West project announced last year, which includes plans for what would be one of the biggest indoor ski slopes in the world and one of the largest water parks in the UK.

We're going to come right out and say it: we absolutely love water parks, and we think all of you should too. 3.  Parks ministry seeking six more inflatable water parks for Sask.

Saskatchewan’s parks ministry is looking for private operators to set up inflatable water parks at six provincial parks in time for the 2020 camping season.  Michael Roth, director of park business services with the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport, said the expansion will follow up on the success of a water park at Rowan’s Ravine Provincial Park on Last Mountain Lake.

Sydney Zoo could make dreams come true for little animal lovers as it calls on kids to put their paws up for the zoo's second intake of Mini Zookeepers.  As the first herd of Sydney Zoo Mini Zookeepers celebrate their one-year anniversary in the once-in-a-lifetime positions, Sydney Zoo is now looking for two more budding animal enthusiasts to continue to champion learning and animal conservation, and become an integral part of the upcoming opening of Sydney's newest zoo in Bungarribee Park.

3.  Zoo announces new attractions, discounted tickets for PNC Festival of Lights

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden’s PNC Festival of Lights returns Nov. 16 with three million lights and attractions galore.  PNC Festival of Lights is in its 37th year, having started as a way to increase visitors during winter months. The first displays included luminaries and some seasonal lighting.

4.  Elmwood Park Zoo's holiday attraction Wild Lights returns for second season

Elmwood Park Zoo in Montgomery County is bringing back its holiday attraction, Wild Lights, for a second season.  On select evenings beginning Friday, Nov. 22, millions of lights will shine throughout the zoo's 16 acres.

5.  Rare baby giraffe makes public debut at Czech zoo

An endangered baby giraffe made his public debut at a northern Czech zoo earlier this week, 12 days after being born in the enclosure.

10.  Temple: Aquarium attraction coming to the mall

7 Seas Aquarium has announced it will open an interactive attraction at the Temple Mall, in January.  The Temple Mall confirmed 7 Seas signed a long term lease agreement for a 5,000 square foot space next to Great American Cookies, where Toys-R-Us use to be in the north end of the mall.
