AGRICULTURAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM CLASS XVII

The Agricultural Leadership Program (ALP) is a multi-disciplinary statewide program that brings together promising leaders from Hawai‘i’s agriculture, natural resources management and rural community sectors. The program combines leadership content, exposes participants to agricultural operations, challenges, and opportunities, and provides opportunities for participants to build diverse networks that allow them to further develop their path toward becoming the innovative problem-solvers and leaders that are so needed in Hawai‘i. ALP trains individuals who have already demonstrated a commitment to lead in their line of work or in community activities. Through the ALP, participants will develop the knowledge, relationships, tools and skills that will enable them to be more successful in their work and other community endeavors.

Please consider supporting this important program by making a donation to our Annual Giving Campaign.

HAWAI‘I AGRICULTURE CONFERENCE (AG2019)

Approximately 650 participants, including 37 recipients of the AG2019 Farmer-Ranch Scholarship, attended AG2019 at the Hawai‘i Convention Center on October 15-16, 2019. The event featured two keynote speakers, over 30 informative sessions, a Grower-Buyer Meet-Up event, and a dynamic student program that over 90 student and advisors from around the state participated in. In addition, the Farm to Table Tastings reception showcased locally grown ingredients from 8 local chefs, including student chefs from Waipahu High School - what a treat! We hope you were able to join us at the conference and we hope to see you in two years at AG2021. Thank you to the over 40 sponsors and exhibitors that helped to make the event possible, including the Hawai‘i Floriculture and Nursery Association for providing the beautiful floral arrangements and leis. Please enjoy a few photos from the conference below, and view the conference photo gallery to see more. See the conference website for complete information.

Conference participants added leaves to "Plant their Intentions" and make their commitment to agriculture. ALFH will follow-up on commitments with participants over email throughout 2020. If you didn't get a chance to stop by and pledge your commitment, there is still time to take part (more info coming soon).
