Dear Friends of Uprooting Addiction, the documentary:
Greetings and welcome to our newsletter! We hope you don’t mind if we occasionally share news of the film's progress and our outreach efforts throughout the country. We would love for you to join us on this journey, however, we understand if you would like to unsubscribe. No hard feelings! Just scroll down and click "unsubscribe".
Since "Uprooting Addiction: Healing from the Ground Up" was completed in August 2019, we have had several local screenings which have been well-received and have sparked important conversations on loss, trauma, addiction, family and recovery. We have connected with numerous organizations such as prevention networks, libraries, addiction treatment centers, sober housing networks, legislators, Department of Corrections personnel, health clinics, military veteran associations and schools, to discuss how they can use the film to address the needs of the populations they serve. We are also actively applying to film festivals with the goal of showing the film to as wide an audience as possible.
Recent Uplifts:
- We received a generous grant from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation in Sheffield, MA.
- The Region 7 school system in Litchfield County, CT, has chosen to show Uprooting Addiction as part of their ongoing efforts to educate students and the community about addiction and its underlying causes.
- Uprooting Addiction has just become an Official Selection at the Reel Recovery Film Festival, which will take place next fall in three cities across the country.
