Here I am, writing the Fall Newsletter on the day of the first snowfall in Kelowna! It is not quite winter yet but it is beginning to feel like it.
Upcoming Shows
I have three paintings in the FCA-COC Autumn Gallery Chapter Show this year. It is being held at the Okanagan Mission Community Hall (The Barn), 4409 Lakeshore Rd. Kelowna. The opening is on Friday, November 15 at 7:00 pm. There will be wine and munchies. I hope you can make it! The show continues on Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
"On Guard", 18" x 24".
"Out of the Mist", 12" x 16"
"Main Cluster", 16" x 12".
I am also very pleased to have my painting "Sentinels of the Valley", 24" x 36" accepted into the FCA Signature Medal Exhibition at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island. This show is very tough to get into because the quality of the work entered is so high. The show runs from November 26th-Dec 15th. If you are in the Vancouver area, stop by and take in some amazing art!

OPUS Demo - November 23rd
I will be doing a presentation and demo at OPUS Kelowna on November 23rd. The presentation is entitled Negative Painting for Positive Results:
Negative painting is an alternative approach in which the subject is established by painting around the object rather than by painting the object itself. Join Kit as she demonstrates how to start with a loose, colourful, textured underpainting and to establish the subject itself with the use of negative painting. Discover how the use of negative shapes can improve your composition and strengthen your design. Kit will also use a PowerPoint presentation to show finished paintings and the various stages of their development.
