As a champion of open data, gender, and open government, Silvana has led research in Latin America to understand how citizens, particularly women, are involved in open government processes and how that impacts their lives. As we observe the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Silvana shares a closer look at the challenges women face in the region and what open government reforms can do to address some of those challenges.
