School Committee Vacancy

The Bedford Selectmen and the Bedford School Committee are seeking applicants for an interim appointment to fill a vacant seat on the Bedford School Committee after a recent resignation.  The School Committee has five elected members.  The appointment for this seat will run through March 14, 2020, when an election for the remaining years of the vacated term will be conducted. The interim member may choose to run for election on March 14, 2020 or resign.

Any registered voters interested in volunteering for appointment to this position are invited to apply by submitting a Volunteer Questionnaire to the Town Manager’s Office or by e-mail to sstanton@bedfordma.gov.  The questionnaire is available at Town Hall, or online at www.bedfordma.gov in the Forms and Documents section under “Volunteer Coordinating Committee.”

The deadline for submitting a questionnaire to be considered for this position is Monday, November 22, 2019.

A joint meeting of the Bedford Selectmen and the Bedford School Committee will be held at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in the Large Group Instruction Room at Bedford High School, 9 Mudge Way, Bedford to appoint the position.

Registered voters interested in volunteering are encouraged to attend the upcoming School Committee meeting scheduled for November 12, 2019 in the Bedford High School Large Group Instruction Room at 7:30 pm, and are invited to contact members of the School Committee with questions. We invite you to make a donation this school year to the BEST Appreciation Fund - you donate, and we fund activities all year! You can give to the Appreciation Fund at any time, but we hope you will consider doing it early so we can confidently plan activities for the year.

Donations to the Appreciation Fund will be appropriated throughout the year to fund programs that show appreciation to the teachers and staff at our schools. These include: funds for teachers supplies, holiday and end of year gifts for school support staff, hospitality and appreciation.

You will need to complete a NEW CORI Form for the 2019-20 year. All previous CORI's expired on July 1st. Download, print, and submit your CORI to the Davis or Lane main office.

Remember, parents are not allowed to volunteer without a CORI on file!
