In the name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the Ever-Merciful

Respected Community Leaders & Members

Salamun Alaykum

I would like to send my greetings to the Imam of our time on the auspicious birth of his grandfather, the seal of the prophets and Khusali mubarak on the wiladat of our 6th Imam Jafer As Sadiq (as). Prophet Muhammed (saw). Our Prophet showed us the meaning of love, the virtues of kindness and being compassionate to everyone. The Holy Qur’an mentions his kind and gentle behaviour in these words:

"O Messenger of Allah! It is a great Mercy of God that you are gentle and kind towards them; for, had you been harsh and hard-hearted, they would all have broken away from you"
(Quran 3:159).

The Islamic Education team put together a series of character traits our Prophet embodied the most. In case you missed it you can read about the traits here.

We started this month with all Office Bears and Regionals members attending the final ExCo of this term in Birmingham, UK. We would like to extend our thanks to the Birmingham Jamaat and The Council of European Jamaats for the incredible hospitality shown to us and our Councillors. You can catch up the latest ExCo5 report and find out who received awards this time round.

Soon after ExCo, Shaykh Murtadha Alidina, the Head of Islamic Education, and I spoke at The Muslim Convention in Manchester. The theme for this year was “Islam & Modernity: Does my Religion Need Reform?” Many speakers give their insight into this question. Alongside this, seminars and workshops were held to give the attendees an opportunity to explore specific topics under this theme or learn new skills.

In collaboration with other charities who are members of The Muslim Charities Forum (MCF), we contributed to the relief efforts to help people affected by the damage caused by the floods in South Yorkshire, UK. Our collective contribution of £15,000 is an example of the difference we can make when we work together for the benefit of the society we live in, and I am proud of the leading role that The World Federation plays in the MCF.

After months of hard work, The Madrasah Centre of Excellence (MCE) Teacher Skills Training programme  (TSP) has been officially accredited by NCFE. We are proud to be the first community-led educational institution to provided accredited certificates to madrasah teachers. We are always seeking ways to ensure we raise the bar, and training our teachers via a professionally recognised TSP is just one way to ensure our children will get the best experience when attending madrasah.

Finally, our 2020 calendar is out now, available in multiple formats. Download it or request us to send it to you.

I hope you enjoy reading this month's news roundup to catch up on our activities. If you want to be the first to find out our latest news, then be sure to follow us on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

With Salaams and Duas,

WF-AID
In March 2019, Cyclone Idai hit Mozambique affecting thousands of people. Homes, properties and crops were completely destroyed, leaving people without homes and no way to get back to their normal way of living.

WF-AID responded by first providing food and emergency aid to some of the thousands of families affected. Your donations also funded the construction of 50 latrines for the most vulnerable families in the area, including the elderly, families with sick members, orphans, widows, and single mothers.

The families we helped now have access safe and durable toilets that can withstand strong rains, and help prevent diseases related to sanitation. You can read more about our work to support people affected by the Cyclone here.
Your continued support, enthusiasm, dedication and passion is what makes The World Federation of KSIMC a success. We'd like to say a special thank you for supporting our global efforts. Together, we are helping and improving the lives of people all over the world.
