Kindly be informed that starting on 1 December 2019 and on an experimental basis until the end of the current year (as per information made available by the AGT), ALL domestic and foreign passengers arriving and leaving Angola through the Luanda International Airport will have to declare in writing the goods they are carrying, based on a form to be made available (in Portuguese, English and French), by the General Tax Administration (AGT).
According to information available on the site of the AGT, all travellers to or from Angola may carry with them:
i) Amounts in national currency not exceeding AOA 50,000.00;
ii) All adult domestic travellers may carry with them foreign currency in amounts not exceeding USD 10,000.00. National underage travellers may carry amounts not exceeding USD 3,500,00;
iii) All foreign (Non-resident) adult travellers may carry amounts of foreign currency not exceeding USD 5,000.00. Foreign underage travellers may carry amounts not exceeding USD 1,500.00.
During the months of January and February 2020, traveller's customs declaration forms will be made available at all air, sea and land customs posts.
