It’s official, the holidays are here, and Back Bay Ringers is switching into high gear! We will be performing in Bedford, Hanover, Rockport, and Boston, as well as making a special appearance at the New England Conservatory bi-annual Lessons and Carols service at Boston's Church of the Covenant. In addition, we also field numerous handbell quartets all around the Boston area, so you never know where or when you might run into us! You can purchase tickets to our concerts at the links above, or grab some discount tickets while they last at Arts Boston. We have had sellout crowds in Boston and Rockport in the past, so don’t wait too long!
Since the holidays are when people tend to think of handbells, this time of year is absolutely critical for us, and is when we make almost all of the money that sustains us for the rest of the year. Now that we have moved to making our spring concerts fundraisers for other local non-profits, we are more dependent than ever on the generosity of our supporters. Whether you wind up attending one of our concerts or not, please consider making a gift to BBR so we can continue to be active members of the arts and education communities. This year we were able to run a music workshop for teens and participate in the Free Fun Friday events in Boston as well as raise money for Stop Handgun Violence. These efforts were in addition to our regular activities like co-sponsoring the Boston Handbell Festival and hosting our annual Summer Ring. Despite being a very small organization with a tiny budget, we are able to have an out-sized positive impact on the community, and it is entirely because of the support we get from all of you.
