Don't miss a beat! Double your gift and help us reach our goal...

Keep the cultural heart of our community beating.

Dear <<First Name>>,

Thank you for your past donation to Connect2Culture via Give Joplin/Give Ozarks Day. Unfortunately, this online fundraising event is not taking place this year. Funds raised during this event, hosted by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, were so valuable in sustaining our operations that Connect2Culture has embarked on an independent, week-long giving campaign and we ask for your help!

Connect2Culture is a nonprofit organization in Joplin with a mission to ignite a passion for the arts, culture, and entertainment. It has been fulfilling this mission since 2009 as a:

1) Community Arts Agency

Connect2Culture provides both collective and individual voice and identity to Joplin’s arts and cultural community. It advocates for and strengthens the 30+ arts/cultural-centric organizations that call Joplin “home” through special events and best-practice workshops. It shares the big picture of our cultural community through presentations to local students and a myriad of local organizations. Connect2Culture supplements marketing efforts for all local creatives to grow audience and make Joplin a more enjoyable place to live and visit.

2) Visionary

Connect2Culture was founded on the principle of dreaming BIG for Joplin’s arts and cultural future. Since 2009, the creation of the soon-to-be-realized Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex has been at the forefront. This physical home for the arts in Joplin will change the landscape of Downtown Joplin and become a regional destination.

3) Performing Arts Presenter

Connect2Culture’s Curtains Up Series draws a variety of high-quality national touring artists to perform in Joplin. This year’s lineup – Ailey II, David Phelps, Voctave, and The Choir of Man – includes artists from New York, Tennessee, Florida, and even the United Kingdom. Our performances attract patrons from near and far, and generate valuable event-related spending in our community.
All this is currently accomplished with just one full-time staff member (Emily Frankoski, Director), one part-time staff member (Lauren Brown, Community Arts Assistant), an active Board of Directors, and a dedicated group of volunteers. The cultural opportunities in Joplin are growing and expanding. In short order, Connect2Culture must grow its team to match this challenge, and we need your help.

To keep this cultural heartbeat of Joplin robust and effective, Connect2Culture respectfully invites you to participate in a week-long effort to raise $20,000 to sustain operations. Help us continue our mission. No donation is too small. An anonymous donor has agreed to match donations, dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000, from Wednesday, November 27 to Wednesday, December 4, so the amount of your gift, and its impact, will be doubled!!! Help us make $20,000 = $40,000 for Connect2Culture!
