Dear BRAWS Supporter,
Imagine having to make do without the most basic necessities, like tampons or a bra that fits and is not in tatters. It is a hardship, but more than that, it impacts how people feel about themselves.
Because of YOU and your continued generosity, this year BRAWS was able to help 6,000 women and girls right here in Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, City of Alexandria, Arlington County, Stafford County, Hampton Roads, and Charlottesville. Your compassion and kindness allowed us to distribute over two million new and unopened pads, tampons, underwear & bras. But for every woman and girl we served, there are so many more still in need of help – not to mention that these types of supplies run out and need to be replenished.
As we approach Giving Tuesday please consider making a donation to BRAWS.
For as little as $25 you can provide a woman experiencing homelessness with a new bra and the dignity she deserves to stand a little bit taller. This may be the first new bra she has had in years and this simple gift will give her the message that people in her community care about her wellbeing. Your contribution means that a teenager doesn’t have to hide or miss school time because she is ashamed and embarrassed and does not have a way to deal with her period. You see, these are simple solutions for much larger problems.
