A Perfect Seal

by Doug Bing, Washington Conference president

When I was working my way through school, I spent time working at a factory that produced plastic bags. We made all types of plastic bags for many different uses and the bags were shipped throughout the Midwest.

There was one thing that all the bags had to have in common no matter what type of bag they were or what they were being used for: They all had to have a strong and perfect seal.

The Bible speaks of sealed bags as well...and there's a beautiful visual about God's love for us.

Three Causes to Support This Holiday Season

1. Adventist Schools
2. Children with Special Needs
3. Local Food Banks

We strongly encourage you to support these causes with your presence, your prayers and your pocketbook! Thank you!
Cause 1: Adventist Education

Christmas Through Children's Eyes

One of the best presents you can give to your local Adventist school is the gift of your presence at an upcoming school Christmas program.

The Adventist schools in western Washington invite you to see, hear, and appreciate the hard work of our scholars! Click the following link to see a list of schools, program dates/times, and performance locations.

Thank you for supporting Adventist Christian Education with your presence! Donations for student scholarships are always appreciated too!

Cause 3: Local Food Banks

Community Fundraiser for Tacoma ACS Food Bank

Local Adventist churches and ministry partners are coming together to present a holiday community fundraiser in support of Tacoma ACS Food Bank who desperately needs a new location to continue serving 19,000 Pierce County clients with special dietary needs. The fundraiser at Tacoma Central Church includes the musical talents of singer Geneva Martin!

Event organizers say: "The funds we raise will ensure funding for overdue maintenance, a modern facility, and quality food supplies and services for Pierce County’s underserved residents in 2020. We are asking for your support to make our First Annual Food, Carols, and Fun Night an AWESOME success!"

Text 253-230-9481 to buy your tickets or see the Facebook event profile for purchasing tickets online.

Two Bonus Ways to Support:
1) Tacoma ACS is an Amazon Smile participant
2) Donate to Tacoma ACS #GivingTuesday campaign (Facebook link)

NOV. 30 - A Bonus Cause!

Washington Evangelism

In the business world, there's a concept about "lead measures" and "lag measures" while pursuing wildly important goals. The lead measures are all the activities that add up over (lag) time to achieve the goal.

We've talked for a long time in our conference about a goal for 1,000 baptisms a year. But we realized that before you can have 1,000 baptisms, you need 1,000 Bible studies (or more!) happening! The Evangelism department started tracking Bible studies with data provided by pastors and local members and discovered that we are offering hundreds of Bible studies every week!

Additionally, we're working with programs like BibleStudyOffer.com to generate even more weekly Bible studies. It is exciting to see what God is doing through Bible studies and the resulting baptisms. God is at work! Your offering this Sabbath for Washington Evangelism will help fund the expansion of Bible studies, baptisms, and discipleship as we put in the lead measures over time in anticipation of the ultimate wildly important goal of heaven.
