CFSC wins pastoral care Award
Cardiff 6th Form College head of pastoral care, Lisa Morton has pioneered the CREATE portfolio which focuses on positive mental health. It helps provide a balanced programme of activities; academic, sporting, social and career focused, preparing pupils to face positive futures. CREATE has just won the inaugural WISC (Welsh Independent Schools Council) Award for well-being initiatives.
New Astronomy GCSE sees impressive take up at Burgess Hill Girls
The success of the school’s Astronomy club has led to the addition of this new GCSE course. 22 girls chose the option in September. Pupils at the Astronomy club asked Head of Physics Andy Gillaspy, if he could offer Astronomy as a GCSE and as a passionate Astronomy graduate, he was happy to oblige.
Ellesmere College Lower school celebrates 20th Anniversary
The 20th anniversary of the Lower School at Ellesmere College was celebrated this month with a special tea and a letter of congratulations from the Princess Royal who opened the Lower school 20 years ago.

Chatbots in the classroom-a view of the future?
Classrooms will certainly look different in 5 years time, with mobile chatbots offering support to individual students and more personalized learning plans developed as algorithms extend into how lesson plans can be tailored to individual learning needs.
Therefore, it is highly likely the current style of teaching in Boarding schools will change with teachers perhaps offering a 10 minute introduction to each lesson before each child then works on their own personalized learning plan, interspersed with team & project learning.
