POWER OF PRAYER

Prayer honors God, acknowledges His being, exalts His power, adores His providence, secures His aid.

- E.M. Bounds

Recent economic developments in South Africa have been troubling. We have seen a number of large scale retrenchments across a number of companies. We have seen a statement from the Auditor General that irregular expenditure has also increased. These are just two of the factors that lead to many in the nation increasing being angered at the state and how things are being run. The fear is that if we let these issues fester we will soon hit a tipping point in this regard.

Recent statistics indicate that youth unemployment has reached 70% (where it includes discouraged job seekers)

This is why as an organisation we have felt an increasing burden to increase our prayers for our nation and to trust that our leaders can begin to implement changes that will improve our economy. We also continue to pray for strength for many in our civil societies who speak truth to power to keep going in this regard and to keep the leaders we have accountable.   Let us continue to be on our knees trusting that the power of Prayer can help us and also that we receive wisdom on strategies to deal with our unemployment crisis.

We trust that you will be encouraged as you read the stories here.
