2020 Census Job Recruitment Event
for Local Workforce Providers

Dear Coalition Member and Partner,

The Association for a Better New York and the NYC Employment & Training Coalition would like to invite you to "New Yorkers Count: Jobs for New Yorkers in the 2020 Census” on December 12 at Hunter College.

With this event, ABNY, NYCETC and our local outreach partners join a national effort to recruit Census takers, recruiting assistants, office clerks and supervisory staff, ensuring that every community is counted accurately and efficiently.

New Yorkers Count: Jobs for New Yorkers in the 2020 Census
Thursday, December 12  /  9:30 am - 12 pm
Hunter College, 685 Park Avenue, 3rd Floor Glass Cafe
See Agenda and RSVP Here

The event will highlight how city and business leaders can come together to provide information on the Census job application process, requirements and training. The program will provide more information for local and workforce development leaders about how people in their communities and networks have an opportunity to work with the Census Bureau before the hiring process begins in January 2020.

This announcement follows the Census Bureau’s confirmation on October 22 that noncitizens will be hired to help with enumeration and translation efforts following months of uncertainty. Census workers are critical in the effort to make sure all U.S. households are counted in the decennial census regardless of the language they speak and their citizenship status.

The benefits of working with the Census Bureau in New York City include competitive pay of at least $20-25 per hour, flexible hours, paid training and weekly paychecks.

A special thank you to to our host, the City University of New York and Hunter College, and our outreach partners the Chinese-American Planning Council, the Human Services Council, the National Urban League and United Neighborhood Houses
