We're thrilled to announce that LRSEF is moving to the University of Louisville's Swain Student Activities Center for 2020. The new venue was selected to accommodate the growing number of participants, projects and families involved in the fair. LRSEF is grateful to the Kentucky Science Center for hosting the fair for the last 5 years and looks forward to a continued and long-lasting relationship promoting STEM engagement for Kentucky's students. Mary Shea Ballantine Wins Rising Star Award at Broadcom MASTERS

Mary Shea Ballantine, a 7th grade student at Saint Francis of Assisi, recently competed as one of 30 finalists from across the country at Broadcom MASTERS in Washington D.C.

Mary Shea was named one of two Rising Stars during the competition, and will have the opportunity to travel to Anaheim, California in May 2020 as the United States delegate to Broadcom MASTERS International and Official Observer at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s largest international high school science fair competition. Mary Shea attended the November LRSEF Board Meeting to share her experience at Broadcom MASTERS.

“Going to Broadcom was truly an experience I will never forget. Being able to meet students from across the nation is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and the opportunities I had during the whole trip were phenomenal. If anybody would like to pursue STEM, or any related field, I say GO FOR IT!!”
