Who else has awesome photos to share of NYS at this time of year?

Forgotten Techniques Series

I'm pretty excited to bring you a couple of forgotten techniques this week!  The first one is to go in your background stash drawer and cut simple triangle tree shapes from any background.  Just cut a rectangle, find the top center and cut diagonally down to the bottom corner.  Do the same cut on the other side.  Simple as can be!

Here are some of my scrap backgrounds I used for one of the tree cards.  The one with the gold blobs worked great for the little punched stars.
This card design couldn't be any easier!
I used a diagonal embossing folder for the blue trees, but that's another step that really isn't necessary if you're cranking out batches of cards.
Another variation using just one tree.  I absolutely LOVE the Merry font by Catherine Pooler.
Here's a non traditional color twist.

Life After Wood Blocks

This week our long-time stamping friend sent me photos of cards where she removed the rubber from the wood block and used them as clings!  Jane said this about her cards:  "...Pulled stamps off wood blocks and stamped with the misti and added color with reinkers."

These stamps remind me of PSX!  Thank you for sharing Jane!

As always, if you have cards to share,  I'm happy to post them.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

XOXO
