Share your research experience and expectation for quantum information (informal 1~2 mins)
Shor's algorithm by Chris Chen:6:50 - 7:10 p.m.
A brief introduction of the famous Shor's algorithm
Discussing future plans: 7:30 - 7:50 p.m.
Summary of Last Meeting
We learnt the basics of quantum algorithms and Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm and then we implemented it with Cirq and Qiskit. Finally, we ran the code on IBM Q Experience, the free cloud quantum computer from IBM!
Thanks Chris Chen for volunteering the first presentation featuring the basics of quantum algorithm!
As always, we are eager to hear from you! We are glad to have members from a variety of backgrounds. If you have some interesting topics in mind, whatever it might be (e.g. complexity theory, tensor network, various applications, quantum mechanics etc.), feel free to discuss in the Slack or shoot us an email.
QC@UCI?
QC@UCI was founded during this past summer by passionate undergraduate and graduate students from various backgrounds. From the very beginning, we aim to connect people from different fields and encourage everyone to learn something new as the inherently interdisciplinary nature of quantum computing and quantum information suggests. Moreover, we hope to stimulate the research and general interest towards this topic at UCI.
But how? We have planned 3 kinds of activities
Paper Discussion
Weekly paper discussion sessions to keep you informed with the latest advancement.
Presentations
Weekly presentations from students, professors and industry speakers to give you a taste of QC.
Projects
Projects will be led by experienced students. Find a project of your interest or invent your own!
Stay Tuned!
Please join our Slack workspace for more information! Whatever background you may have, as long as you find QC interesting, we look forward to your participation!
